Sometimes you just get things you would never think that you would ever get…ringworm being one of them. But it is actually quite common especially among children, or athletes that deal with mats or even if you take a shower at the gym. It is a fungal infection that can be easily treated and cured. Here are some quick remedies and cures for ringworm that I have come across to share with you… *Put a little tea tree oil on the affected area *Put some apple cider vinegar on the area *I have heard of putting bleach on it but I highly do NOT recommend putting bleach on your skin *Over the counter Tinactin and fungicides sometimes do the trick *Make a paste of crushed mustard seeds with apple cider vinegar *Try making a saltwater or Epsom salt compress for the area *Try making a part spinach and part carrot juice compress to the area *Try applying a little peppermint, coconut or lavender oil to the area *Clear nail polish has been said to do the trick in a few days *Try cleaning it wit some hydrogen peroxide *Put some oregano oil on it - great anti-fungal properties *If you have ever seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding you can always try a little Windex to the area :) Ringworm is extremely contagious`so if you spot it I would treat it right away! And also be sure to wash all towels, bed sheets, and clothes to make sure the fungus isn’t lingering around somewhere. Also clean the tub if you have small children that take baths. If you have a baby under 1 or a preexisting condition consult your doctor before trying natural remedies. Remember eczema is very similar in appearance to ringworm so you may just have that - consult your doctor to see which infection you have if you are not sure.
