The one thing I don’t like about the summer is that it is tick season and I have so many ticks where I live it is unbelievable. And worse than those disgusting little creatures is that there are quite a bit of deer around here so I’m always being on the lookout for those teeny tiny pesky deer ticks that carry the nasty Lyme Disease. And if I do have a tick on me I watch that spot to make sure it doesn’t turn into that red bulls-eye like shape - a sure sign of the disease along with common ailments such as fever, muscle pain, headache and nausea. *Mountain Mint - it is a natural repellent so instead of spraying poison on yourself crush some mountain mint leaves and make a clear paste with water and rub in on your legs and arms and any other part that is exposed. If you are pregnant do not do this - some mints can cause miscarriage. *Garlic juice is also a natural repellent. I actual have garlic juice spray that every 2 weeks I spray around my child’s play area and it really does seem to do the trick. Although it does have a slight odor - but it fades quickly. *Add more garlic to you dishes or have garlic in capsule form *Licorice - eat more licorice because of it’s antibacterial features *Echinacea - have a cup or 2 of Echinacea tea to treat the infection *Other herbs to treat lyme disease known for anti-bacterial compounds include - thyme, oregano and rosemary. *Always be sure to check for ticks very closely to exposed areas. Deer ticks are considerably smaller than regular ticks. *Always be sure to consult your doctor if you have a current or pre-existing condition before trying natural remedies. Natural remedies are sometimes not best for all people. Filed under: Natural Remedies ![]() Comments:
