Paper cuts

There is nothing more annoying than getting a piece of paper and in the process getting a papercut! Here are some quick tips to help you get rid of it and take the pain and the sting away quicker:

*Put a raw potato on it for 10 minutes

*Put some witch hazel on the paper cut

***Try a little chapstick on the paper cut - sounds weird but I have tried it an oddly enough it worked for me. This one gave me instant pain relief and it seals up the wound protecting it from germ.

*After you wash it try a little super glue or nail polish - it will seal the paper cut. Or you can try that liquid bandage also

*Put a little honey on it - the sweetest of natural remedies…the power of honey is amazing!

Remember what may work for one person may not work for someone else.

If you have ever had a baby that has had colic then you know how terrible it can be for both you and the baby. The baby is in discomfort and you feel helpless because you can not do anything for him/her. There is All Natural Gripe Water which has been known to help treat baby gas successfully. Honey And Cinnamon Cleanse

If you are into the cleansing of the digestive tract but would like to clean out all that fungus, bacteria and parasites that you may have the actually slow down your digestion process all the while causing toxic build up you may try this. Just pour 1 cup of boiling water over a teaspoon of ground cinnamon. let it sit for 1/2 an hour. When it is cool at 2 teaspoons of RAW honey but do not add it when it is hot because the heat destroys the benefits of honey. Then drink 1/2 before you got to sleep and the other half in the morning. Simple as that!

Stop that Cold

You can tell you are starting to get that cold..the scratchy sore throat and the pressure in your head. What to do to stop it from turing into a full blown cold or flu. And if you can not stop it at least lessen the intensity and duration of it. This is what I do. First I have a huge fruit salad - tons of strawberries, blackberries, kiwi’s, blueberries and pineapples. I then have 2 slices of lemon by itself afterwards. For lunch I have a veggie salad with broccoli, tomatos, lettuce (more for taste) and sprinkled with flaxseeds. And for dressing I have some braggs apple cider vinegrette dressing. I also have steamed veggies at night always including broccoli. I have a teaspoon of manuka honey in the morning and one at night right after I have my cup of elderberry tea. Sambucol syrup has also done wonders for me in stopping that terrible cold or flu from coming on too.

Candida

Here are some great natural remedies I compiled for Candida. Be sure to talk to your doctor about this though…find out what it is brought on by whether it is stress, your diet, medications or even stress.

*Add fresh garlic and cayenne peppers to your diet. Garlic is excellent for getting rid of candida. You can apply it topically as well. It may smell bad but it is a great cure! If you can not take the smell they have garlic in capsule forms

*Try and Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda Bath

*If it is a topical infection try manuka honey

*Alter your diet…remember yeast thrives on sugars, fruits, carbs, bread and pasta also cut out the beer and wine from your diet as well. Fresh veggies are great!

* Take a bath in warm water and a 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide

*Add fresh oregano and cloves to your diet and food

*Try coconut oil capsules/supplements

*You may want to consider adding shark liver oil suppliments to your diet and your foods.

*A teaspoon of apple cider vinegar does the body wonders! (it tastes gross but is great for you)

*Have a slice of lemon or lime every day

*Try adding a few drops of grape seed extract in water each day.

*Olive leaf capsules have been said to work

*Eat natural unsweetened yogurt daily… Acidophilus is a probiotic culture (good bacteria) in most yogurt. This helps to support the immune system and prevent candida

*Apply tea tree oil to affected areas or your bath water

*Cinnamon is great for treating thrush caused by candida

*Drink Echinacea tea - and even apply the tea bags to the affected areas

*Apply lavender oil to your bath

*Add peppermint, rosemary or thyme oils to your baths…all are great antifungal treatments

Be sure to always talk and consult your doctor about any health issues and before you try natural remedies especially if you have a pre existing condition. And remember too much of anything is not good for you.

Prevent Yeast Infections

I truly believe that prevention is the best method. If you can prevent something then you don’t have to worry about the hassles of treating it! And a yeast infection can occur anywhere there is moisture. So if you are over weight or just have folds of skin - even from a pregnancy - you can develop a yeast infection in those moist areas.

Here are some tips to prevent a yeast infection:

*Try to reduce your stress

*Put some tea tree oil in your bath

*Wear loose clothing and always stay dry - very important

*Always wear cotton underpants

*Use only water based lubricants

*Forget the fancy powders, perfumes and even perfume scented bath products..if you take the occational bubble bath then be sure to shower of completely and totally. And do not douche!

*However, I really like medicated Gold Bond powder - it keeps the area dry

*Eat a cup a natural nonsweetened yogurt a day

*Try a seasalt and apple cider vinegar bath

*Add more garlic to your diet or try garlic capsules

*Wipe infected area with hydrogen peroxide

*A teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar a day does wonders for your overall health!

*Do not use powder that contains cornstarch

*And as with babies…wipe from front to back (don’t use colored toilet paper)

*If you can stand it add some garlic to your bath

*Eliminate sugars from your diet as much as you can and that includes too much fruit and carbs as well

Trying To Get Pregnant

Here are some great tips on trying to conceive if you are having trouble getting pregnant…you may want to try going out for ice cream every night!! There have been studies that have found that if you eat every day at least one high fat dairy food like yummy ice cream you decrease your risk of infertility from ovulatory disorders by 25% - what a great way to solve that problem!!! Eat more ice cream!! So that means if you eat more than 2 servings of low fat dairy foods each day you actually increase your lack of ovulation by a whopping 85%.

Stronger Nails

Here is a great quick tip for your brittle nails. If you want you nails to be stronger then…

*Try soaking your nails in lemon juice for 15 to 20 minutes every day - this did wonders for my nails which were always brittle and breaking.

*Eat peanuts everyday - they make a great snack anyways and they are great for your nails. So aren’t bananas and cauliflower because they contain biotin - a vitamin that is excellent for your nails.

*Be sure to moisturize you nails - brush some olive oil on them for a great natural moisturizer.

*Massage your nails - get a hand and nail massage or have someone give you a hand/nail massage - they are very relaxing

*Always wear gloves when you do the dishes or will be cleaning with a lot of water.

*Don’t always have nail polish on - let your nails breath and take it off

*Stop biting your nails - it is a bad habit that is actually horrible for your teeth besides!

Nails take a while to grow so be patient and you should see results in 3-4 months. Personally, you may want to mention your nail problems to your doctor - it could be a symptom to a more serious problem such as a thyroid problem.

Remedies for Hangovers

How to treat a hangover the natural way! When you have a hang over you’ll try anything!!! Some of these may work for you. The best thing to do is prevent it but it’s a little late to think of that if you already have the hangover. Here are a couple of remedies I’ve stumbled upon in my college days.

*Eat come cabbage or an apple - an apple a day keeps the porcelain king away

*Take a B-vitamins before you go to bed

*Tomato or chicken soup always makes you feel better

*Eat A Teaspoon of Honey every 15 minutes

*Add the juice of one lemon to a cup of tea and drink it

*Put lemon juice under your armpits!!

*Eat a banana

*Add two teaspoons of fresh lime juice with 1 teaspoon of sugar to 8 ounces of water.
Yuck - but my college roommate can vouch that this works.

*Do not drink coffee - you’re just going to be a wide awake drunk and you won’t feel any better!!

*Try vegetable juice with a little hot pepper sauce in it

*Do not have another drink-that’s what got you into this mess!

*Drink lots of water - you have to hydrate yourself again!!

*Have a glass of Gatorade and I’ve even heard of taking a Midol with the Gatorade - never tried that one though.

*Have some almonds

*Take a vitamin C before you go to bed

*Massage your head - pull you hair gently near the scalp…don’t pull it out because you are feeling awful!!!

*Drink tomato juice or sauerkraut juice (yuck!)….or both!!

*Eat breakfast - get something in your stomach

*Remember this feeling next time you go to a party and have a drink!!

*To prevent it have some peanut butter and almonds

Do not try all of these at once! Pick one and good luck!!

*Always be sure to consult your doctor if you have a current or pre-existing condition before trying natural remedies. Natural remedies are sometimes not best for all people.
