Do Not Take Oils Internally
Posted on 09.11.08 by Your Natural Remedies @

When you are talking about an oil like Tea Tree Oil or Manuka Oil and all oils in general it is a good rule of thumb that they are not suppose to be ingested or taking internally. The oil products are more for topical solutions, can be used for making steams or mouthwashes but should not be eaten or drank in any way, shape of form. There is for example tea tree tea and peppermint tea but they are created from the leaves. The oil is also taken from the leaves but because it is in an oil form it is far more potent.

And you should always consult your doctor before taking something internally even if it is herbal and all natural. Taking even just a little of for example, Tea Tree Oil, could cause everything from diarrhea to a coma. There are oils that you can cook with and put in your foods like grapeseed oil or oregano oil but if you do not know what you are doing then oils are best to be used topically.

Do not use oils if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding!!

Herbal Does Not Always Mean Safe
Posted on 02.15.07 by Your Natural Remedies @

Remember…just because they are herbal does not mean that they are safe. Always be sure to read labels and consult your doctor. Do not just assume that they are safe especially if you are pregnant or have a pre-existing condition. Just make sure that you read up and do your research first and be cautions when taking herbal supplements!

Your Natural Remedies Disclaimer
Posted on 09.23.06 by Your Natural Remedies @

My blog is all about natural remedies and the benefits of eating healthy foods. However, if you have a current or pre-existing condition always consult your doctors before trying natural and alternative treatments especially if involving natural herbs.

Do not take herbs or natural remedies if your are trying to conceive, are pregnant or are breastfeeding unless you consult your doctor about it.

Always remember – eat and drink in moderation. Too much of anything (fruits, vegetables, juices, nuts…) is not good for you.

Also, remember – herbs can be very potent so always read the labels for side effects and only take as directed.
